What is the method of automatic roasting?

The machine is equipped with a fully automatic system for bean loading and unloading, roasting profile replication, and cooling. During the automatic roasting process, the system replicates the damper and drum rotation speed parameters based on a preset timeline. It uses the beans temperature (BT) as the control target and manages the heat through PID (Proportional–Integral–Derivative) control to ensure consistent roast profiles.

When does the automatic roasting system discharge the beans?

In automatic mode, the beans are discharged automatically once the drop temperature is reached. If, due to other factors (such as a significant difference in bean quantity), the drop temperature is not reached within 30 seconds after the expected discharge time, the machine will automatically release the beans.

Is ductwork installation necessary for smoke exhaust?

Yes, ducting is required. The machine does not include a smoke removal system, so the smoke generated during the roasting process needs to be vented out through a standard 4-inch exhaust duct connected by the user.

Are there consumable items that need to be replaced regularly?

This coffee roaster has no regular consumables except for the front bearing lubrication oil. If abnormal noises occur during drum rotation, users can apply the provided food-grade, high-temperature resistant lubricant to the front bearing to eliminate the noise (please refer to the instructional video). Although the metal heating elements have a limited lifespan, they are generally durable and do not require frequent replacement when operated according to the recommended roasting procedures.

How often does the machine need to be cleaned? Can it be disassembled for cleaning?

It is recommended to clean the chaff tray and silver skin container after each day of roasting. The chaff tray should be emptied only when the machine has cooled down to prevent burns. Excessive buildup of chaff can negatively affect flavor and may even pose a fire hazard. The silver skin container can hold chaff from approximately 10 kilograms of roasting. Excess chaff may cause duct blockage and reduce dust collection efficiency. The front door glass, drum, and exhaust fan are also removable for cleaning. Please ensure the power is turned off before cleaning. For detailed instructions, please refer to the tutorial video.

What should I do if the coffee beans burn or catch fire during roasting?

You can manually discharge the beans by pressing the discharge button or by forcibly pulling the discharge handle. In case of a fire, it is recommended to forcibly shut down the machine after discharging the beans (when they are no longer inside the drum) to prevent the cooling fan from blowing flames out and causing a fire hazard. Under normal conditions, the machine is preset with a bean temperature upper limit of 230°C. When the bean temperature approaches 225°C, an alert sound will notify the user, and the beans will automatically be discharged at 230°C to allow cooling. On the machine’s settings page, the bean temperature limit can be increased up to 250°C. Please note that raising this limit increases the risk of coffee bean combustion, and users will bear the associated fire risk.
